The Minimalist Clothing Rack In 4 Steps

I just recently re-decorated my room and moved a couple things around and one of the first things I wanted to do was to change my clothing rack around just a bit. It's the very first thing I see when I walk into my room and so I wanted to make sure that it gave me all the positive vibes the moment I stepped inside my room.
I did a couple things to get it looking as minimalistic and uncluttered as possible.

1. I got rid of bulky unappealing clothing items on  my rack.

This is essential if you are going for that minimalist vibe. So I took every "ugly" piece of clothing I owned and shoved it far back in my closet.

2.  I colour graded.

White is the perfect clean-cut, welcoming thing to walk home into, so I made sure to incorporate as MUCH white onto my rack as possible. I can guarantee you that if I could have, I would have simply made the entire rack all white but.. I don't have enough plain white clothing for that to work. I settled instead for colour grading, going from white to cream to greys and then to blacks. This will honestly change up your space so much and give your room a minimalist yet sophisticated vibe!

 3. The less shoes, the better

This rule is GOLD. before I re-did my clothing rack, I literally used to keep beneath it every shoe and it's brother. What I mean by that, is that I kept way too many shoes beneath my rack and even when my room was clean and tidy, it still made me uneasy and looked pretty rubbish. So I knew something needed to change. Now I only keep about 3 or 4 pairs of shoes on my rack, and I try as much as possible to keep the cutest ones on display! I mean, a clothing rack is more-so for the aesthetic than anything else, am I right?!

4.  Personalize.

I love the idea of making anything my own. So, when it comes to my clothing rack, I can't help but want to do the same. To personalize this area a little, I decided to fold all my light-wash denim into a pile on the bottom and I placed it diagonally rather than straight-on for some added personality. I also hung up on the wall behind the rack, some cute black hats of mine and to finish off the area, I kept an aesthetically pleasing brown shopping bag from my (new) favourite vintage store, Filthy Ribena.

This, ladies and gents, is how you can create a minimalistic clothing rack design for your room or any living area!
